The branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "TsOK AIC" in the Republic of Tatarstan provides services to agricultural producers in the region regarding the handling of livestock by-products. In addition to conducting laboratory tests, the branch's specialists develop technical specifications that facilitate the timely monitoring and proper handling of livestock by-products, reduce the risk of violating current legislation, and improve the efficiency of agricultural production.
As of September 1, 2025, specialists from the branch's testing laboratory have already developed technical specifications for the use of livestock by-products for 60 large and medium-sized livestock and poultry farms in the republic.
"Farmers' interest in the technical specification development service provided by our branch since this spring has been rapidly growing, as it ensures that livestock by-products comply with all necessary safety requirements and standards, allowing for the free use and sale of livestock by-products in the future," explained Idris Gatin, Deputy Director of the Tatarstan branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "TsOK AIC."
The developed technical specifications necessarily contain information on the intended use and scope of the livestock by-products, processing methods, consumer characteristics, safety requirements for humans and the environment, and conditions of use.
Laboratory testing of livestock by-products includes testing samples for toxic element content, pesticide residues, and quality indicators such as total nitrogen, total phosphorus, total potassium, organic matter content, moisture, pH, dry residue, impurities, and particle size.
In just 8 months of 2025, the branch’s testing laboratory analyzed 98 samples of livestock by-products and carried out 588 studies.
