Rustam Minnikhanov of Tatarstan met with Russian Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut. The head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture arrived in the republic on a working visit. The meeting was held at the Kazan Expo site. Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov also took part in the event.
The meeting discussed key areas for the development of the republic's agro-industrial complex. Tatarstan is one of the country's leaders in agricultural production. Last year, the volume of agricultural products exceeded 340 billion rubles. The republic fully satisfies the population's needs for basic food products. Among the regions of the country, Tatarstan ranks 1st in milk production, 2nd in potato harvesting, and is also among the top ten in meat, egg production and sugar beet harvesting.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that such results were achieved thanks to the comprehensive support of the President of Russia, the Federal Government and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
Today, the harvesting campaign is actively underway. Currently, half of the sown areas have been harvested in Tatarstan, the average yield is more than 40 c/ha. 2.73 million tons of grain have been collected.
The parties also discussed the further development of the region's agro-industrial complex, measures to support the industry, improving the quality of life in rural areas, and issues of personnel training.
