Today, as part of the International Forum "ROSTKI: Russia and China - Mutually Beneficial Cooperation", a session "Partnership in Agriculture: Russian-Chinese Prospects" was held. The event became a platform for discussing the prospects for developing Russian agricultural exports to China and exchanging experience between Russian exporters. It was attended by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Director of the Department for Regulation in the Sphere of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Zalina Aiba, Representative of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia in the People's Republic of China Dmitry Klishin, General Director of the Trade Center of Russian Goods Yongjiang Li, Head of the Foreign Economic Activity and Certification Department of the National Union of Poultry Farmers Daria Podymova, expert of the Chinese Union for the Development of Foreign Agricultural Industry Wei Li.
In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov emphasized the growing potential for exporting agricultural products from the region to the Chinese market. He noted that Tatarstan, being one of the leading agricultural regions of Russia, produces a wide range of products that are in demand in China.
The Minister noted that in 2024, the volume of exports of Tatarstan's agricultural products amounted to $470.1 million, while products worth $41 million were exported to China, in particular, sunflower and rapeseed oil, chocolate and confectionery. The Republic occupies a leading position in Russia in the export of mayonnaise, condensed milk, jams and is among the top 10 exporters of sunflower oil.
Agro-industrial complex products are exported by 258 participants in foreign economic activity with a geography of deliveries to 56 countries of the world. Every year, the number of exporters increases and Tatarstan's export potential is growing thanks to the national project "International Cooperation and Export". The main share of exports is accounted for by the products of the oil and fat industry, the leading enterprises of which are the Kazan Fat Plant and Essen Production. Marat Zyabbarov also noted the successful development of the Halal direction and emphasized the importance of establishing partnerships with Chinese companies, participating in international exhibitions and ensuring that products meet Chinese quality standards. According to him, the right approach and proven strategies will significantly increase export volumes and strengthen economic ties with China.
