The III International Forum "Rostki: Russia and China - Mutually Beneficial Cooperation" continues in Kazan. As part of the forum, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov with a delegation from the People's Republic of China headed by Vice President of the state investment company China Kaili Group Ou Guichen.
Marat Zyabbarov spoke about the achievements of the agricultural sector of the Republic of Tatarstan. "In terms of agricultural production, the Republic of Tatarstan ranks first in the Volga Federal District and is among the top three regions of the country. With 2% of the country's agricultural land, the republic produces 3.8% of its agricultural products. Agriculture fully provides the population of the republic with the main types of its own high-quality products. According to the results of 2024, in absolute terms, the export of agricultural products of the Republic of Tatarstan amounted to 470.1 million US dollars,” noted Marat Zyabbarov.
According to the minister, in 2024, the Republic of Tatarstan exported goods to the People's Republic of China for a total of 41 million US dollars. Of these: sunflower oil for 18 million US dollars, rapeseed oil for 15 million US dollars, other chocolate and other food products containing cocoa 3.4 million US dollars; sweet dry biscuits 432 thousand US dollars; jams, jellies, marmalades, purees or pastes, subjected to heat treatment, from other fruits, berries and nuts 221 thousand US dollars; beet pulp, bagasse (sugar cane pulp) and other residues from sugar production 874 thousand US dollars.
Today, within the framework of bilateral progressive development of relations between Russia and China, relations between Tatarstan and the PRC, the Ministry is actively establishing new contacts, looking for partners to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation based on the principles of equality and respect. Mutually beneficial relations strengthen partnership and correspond to the goals of the national project "International Cooperation and Export".
Then the meeting participants discussed partnership in the field of agriculture and new prospects for Russian-Chinese cooperation in terms of export and import of agricultural products. They also discussed issues of attracting foreign investment, ideas for new investment projects and expanding trade and economic cooperation in the field of agriculture.
"At its level, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan is ready to promote the development of business ties, in particular on issues of development of the agro-industrial complex: implementation of joint effective investment projects in the industry, development of trade cooperation," Marat Zyabbarov noted.
