Today, the Tatar-inform news agency held a press conference dedicated to the equestrian festival "Horse Day", which will be held on August 9 in the village of Novy Kyrlay, Arsk municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan. It was attended by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Gelyus Bayazitov, First Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the Arsk municipal district Renat Gatiyatov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism Anastasia Sofyina and Executive Director of the Equestrian Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan Svetlana Kappusheva.

"This year, the 10th anniversary equestrian festival "Horse Day" will be held with the support of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Equestrian Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan. The festival will feature horse races at the following distances: 40, 80, 100, 120 and 160 km. Participants will come from Udmurtia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Penza, Ulyanovsk, Lipetsk regions, Tyumen, Moscow and St. Petersburg. More than 130 horses of various breeds are planned to participate. The participants will be judged by a panel of judges of the international category,” said Gelyus Bayazitov.

Also on this day, horse races will be organized for Tatar, thoroughbred, half-blood and local breeds; demonstration performances of athletes from the State Budgetary Institution of the Russian Youth Sports School of Kazan and the First Pony Club, a horseback wrestling tournament “Audarysh” and various competitions and competitions on horses, he added.

As Gelyus Bayazitov noted, the goal of the equestrian festival "Horse Day" is, first of all, to popularize horse breeding and equestrian sports in the Republic of Tatarstan. Raising the prestige of the equestrian business, encouraging the best horse owners and horse breeders of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as promoting and developing racing in the Republic of Tatarstan," concluded Gelyus Bayazitov.

Executive Director of the Equestrian Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan Svetlana Kappusheva reported that the festival will include the Tatarstan championship and championship in distance horse racing and traditional horse racing.

"Participants from seven regions of the country have already signed up for the distance races, including riders from Tatarstan. They will begin early in the morning, at 4:30. There will also be spectacular horse racing. This is one of the oldest competitive events, where the most mature horse will be determined," she explained.

According to Svetlana Kappusheva, Horse Day in Tatarstan is not just a sports competition, but a large-scale festival that combines a rich cultural tradition and modern development of equestrian sports. Thanks to the support of state and sports organizations, the festival has acquired all-Russian status and continues to gain momentum. The event demonstrates a high level of sports competitions, the development of children's equestrian sports, the preservation of traditional types of competitions and the active involvement of a wide audience.

A rich cultural program has also been prepared for the Horse Day, continued Renat Gatiyatov, First Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the Arsk District.

"The official opening of the holiday will take place at 16:00 with a theatrical prologue, then exhibitions and competitions will begin. The concert program will feature the Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, People's Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan - Anvar Nurgaliev and Honored Artists of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Bashkortostan Zhavit and Zulfiya Shakirov, as well as folklore groups of the Arsky District. A trading area and food outlets will be organized. Folk games will be held, as well as wrestling tournaments among adults and children, and the festival will end with a festive fireworks display," he noted.
