Today, as part of the international agro-industrial exhibition Agrovolga-2025, a panel discussion "Dairy Market 2030. Development Prospects and New Benchmarks" was held. The meeting was moderated by Artem Belov, General Director of the National Union of Milk Producers.
According to the results of the 1st quarter of this year, the Republic of Tatarstan ranks first in the Russian Federation in milk production, with 7.2% of the total volume of the Russian Federation.
At the opening of the exhibition, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that over the past 5 years, more than 10 million tons of milk have been produced, the volume of investments in the agro-industrial complex has exceeded 170 billion rubles, more than 64 thousand new livestock places have been created, almost 17 thousand agricultural machinery has been purchased. As a result, Tatarstan is one of the leaders in agricultural production in the country.
Artem Belov reported on the current situation on the Russian milk market, taking into account production, demand, and the economic situation. “The Agrovolga-2025 exhibition is one of the largest events in the agro-industrial complex as a whole in the Russian Federation. It is very symbolic that today we are discussing milk and its production in the Republic of Tatarstan. It is number one in milk production and one of the leaders in the processing of dairy products,” Artem Belov emphasized.
He noted that the industry has been developing very dynamically in recent years. “A serious incentive for the industry has been the growth of disposable income of the population. In 2023, consumption of dairy products increased by almost 6%. Last year, consumption increased by 3%. Unfortunately, this year we are seeing a slight slowdown in growth rates,” Artem Belov noted.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan — Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov spoke on the topic "Tatarstan — the leader of the Volga region: how livestock management is structured in the region No. 1 in milk production."
He reported that over the past 5 years, milk production in agricultural organizations and peasant farms has increased by 30.7%, which corresponds to the objectives of the national project "Technological support of food security."
President of the EkoNiva Group of Companies Stefan Duerr spoke about the principles of successful implementation of the "From field to counter" concept. According to him, EkoNiva-APK Holding is the leader in milk production in Russia with the following indicators: 120 thousand dairy cows, 632 thousand agricultural lands, 42 modern farms.
Andrey Shutov, the manager of KOMOS GRUPP LLC, the management organization of Milkom OJSC, reported on the fight against counterfeiting as a factor in increasing demand for milk.
“As a rule, it is profitable for enterprises that actively produce milk-containing products with milk fat substitutes to engage in counterfeiting - these are products that can contain up to 50% of milk fat substitutes and are subject to a preferential VAT rate of 10%, just like regular dairy products,” he noted.
Andrey Shutov stated that in order to more actively bring counterfeiters to tax liability and reduce economic incentives for the production of counterfeit dairy products, it is necessary to increase the VAT rate from 10% to 20% on milk-containing products with milk fat substitutes and a number of raw materials for their production, since there are no precise methods to determine the percentage of milk fat replacement in a product, which is used by unscrupulous players.
According to him, milk fat is on average 5 times more expensive than its vegetable and other analogs of animal origin.
General Director of LLC "UK "August-Agro" Aidar Galyautdinov spoke about the implementation of an investment project in dairy farming.
