Tatarstan begins inspection of equipment readiness for harvesting

30 June 2025, Monday

A large-scale inspection of the readiness of agricultural enterprises for harvesting grain crops has begun in the Republic of Tatarstan. From June 30 to July 4, the commission will assess the condition of the equipment, compliance with safety requirements and the readiness of elevator capacities to receive the new harvest.

This year, Tatarstan farmers will have to harvest 2.7 million hectares of crop areas. It is expected to collect 4.2 million tons of grain, as well as a significant harvest of industrial crops: 1.8 million tons of sugar beets and 1 million tons of potatoes and vegetables. The success of the harvesting campaign largely depends on the timely and high-quality preparation of equipment.

Particular attention during the inspection will be paid to the readiness of grain harvesters. The machines will be tested for leaks using trial threshing and passing grain through a protective screen. This will help identify and eliminate possible grain losses during harvesting. The availability of the necessary equipment to ensure worker safety will also be checked: fire extinguishers, first aid kits, safety vests and emergency stop signs.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, as of June 20, about 88% of grain harvesting equipment subject to repair has been restored. Of the 2,563 combines, 2,250 units have been repaired. About 2 billion rubles were allocated for the restoration of the grain harvesting equipment fleet. Compliance with harvesting deadlines and high-quality preparation of equipment are key factors for the successful completion of the harvesting campaign and ensuring food security in the region.
