Today, the VIII Council of Public Organizations and Associations of the Republic of Tatarstan on Combating Corruption was held in Kazan.
The event was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Lenar Garipov, the head of the audit and anti-corruption department Almaz Galimzyanov and other officials.
The participants were told about corruption statistics in Tatarstan, and representatives of public organizations were able to discuss issues of interest with experts.
“In Tatarstan, the agricultural sector has always been a priority for budget support, so our Ministry, its structural divisions, and agricultural organizations are focused on the effective use of every budget ruble,” said Lenar Garipov.
The forum guests admit that the issue of corruption in Tatarstan is acute. The population is poorly informed about this problem.
The forum participants also raised questions about excommunication from public service for being caught in such a crime and even discussed the death penalty if evidence of a large-scale corruption scheme were to be revealed.
