Tatarstan is ready to act as a platform for Chinese companies to enter the Russian market. This was stated by the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov at a round table with the participation of Chinese companies "Interregional cooperation between Russia and China on the example of the Republic of Tatarstan". The moderator was the head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan Taliya Minullina. The event was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov and other officials. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the II International Forum "ROSTKI: Russia and China - Mutually Beneficial Cooperation" at the Kazan Expo.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the representatives of Chinese business for participating in the II Forum "ROSTKI". "Tatarstan attaches great importance to the development of cooperation with China within the framework of relations between the two states. The governments and business circles of our countries are making great efforts to expand cooperation in various fields. For our part, we are ready to actively participate in these processes at the regional level,” said the Rais of the Republic.
He emphasized that Tatarstan is interested in close cooperation with Chinese companies. “I would like to talk more specifically with our Chinese partners and listen to your proposals. Based on the results of our meeting today, we will prepare a protocol of instructions in order to consider all your wishes together with the Consul General of the PRC in Kazan,” noted Rustam Minnikhanov.
The Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan drew attention to the fact that one of the important factors in the development of the Tatarstan economy is attracting investment, including from China. The most striking example is the Chinese corporation Haier, which has already opened several factories in the republic.
The Union of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Russia makes a great contribution to strengthening Russian-Chinese cooperation. The Chairman of the Union Zhou Liqiong spoke about it in more detail. Today, the organization unites 4 thousand companies from various industries. Zhou Liqiong noted that after the first forum "ROSTKI" last year, many Chinese entrepreneurs expressed interest in developing cooperation with Tatarstan.
Then representatives of Chinese companies spoke about their business activities, the most promising areas of cooperation with Tatarstan, and Haier shared its experience of interaction with the republic.
The meeting was attended by such companies as Sinopec (the largest oil and gas company in China), China Faw Group (the first Chinese automobile manufacturer), Sany Heavy Industry (manufacture of construction equipment), Hainan Longpan Oilfield Technology (develops and services technologies for offshore oil fields), China International Marine Containers (container transportation and logistics), HXH-Global (development of electronic products and software development), Junhe Pumps Holding (manufacture of pumps) and others.
During the conversation, the Rais of Tatarstan suggested that Chinese businesses work more actively in terms of localization of production. He noted that the republic has created the most comfortable conditions for investors.
"Today there were many companies working in the logistics sector, this is a very pressing issue. Our last year's trade turnover with China amounted to $3 billion. This is a very serious figure. It is important for us to maintain this momentum," Rais Tatarstan emphasized.
Rustam Minnikhanov also named IT and agriculture as promising areas for further joint work.
