Harvesting is underway in Tatarstan's apple orchards
Today, the harvest is underway in the apple orchards of the Republic of Tatarstan. According to forecast data, the gross yield of pome crops should be about 1 thousand tons.
Returning cold weather in the spring led to the death of flowers of fruit and berry crops in many orchards of the republic. In some places, the death of flowers reached up to 70%, so the yield this year is lower than the forecast values.
In the republic, there are 7.7 thousand hectares of fruit and berry plantations, taking into account private household plots, 1.6 thousand hectares in agricultural organizations and peasant (farming) households, of which 600 hectares of apple orchards of intensive and super-intensive type (from 800 to 2500 thousand units / ha).
Large areas of apple orchards in the peasant farm of Khairullin A.I. Drozhzhanovsky district (200 hectares), peasant farm of Davletshin M.S. Buinsky district (40 hectares), of which 160 hectares have entered the fruiting period. Today, autumn and winter apples of Lobo, Belorusskoye Sladkoye, Berkutovskoye, Honey Crisp, Sinap Severny, etc. are being collected from these areas.
Today, consumer demand for local apples is high, and products are sold locally and at fairgrounds.
Farms play a key role in the implementation of the national project "Small and Medium Entrepreneurship".
