The Republican Information and Computing Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan and the largest integrated provider of digital services and solutions in Russia, Rostelecom, signed a strategic partnership agreement. The signing ceremony of the document took place at the international forum Kazan Digital Week-2024. At the moment, the parties intend to work together on projects to implement IT solutions in the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Tatarstan.
In particular, the provider is ready to deploy a meteorological monitoring system at the republic's agricultural enterprises, which allows automatic monitoring of all key environmental parameters: temperature, air and soil humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and direction, and precipitation. The data obtained will help agricultural producers carry out sowing, apply fertilizers, and harvest crops taking into account weather conditions.
"One of the main problems faced by farmers is the insufficiently developed network of Roshydromet weather stations. With the support of Rostelecom, we plan to launch a pilot project in Tatarstan, which can later be extended to the entire country. The provider's solution will open up new opportunities for agricultural producers - they will receive certified weather data for more efficient work," said Niyaz Khaliullin, General Director of JSC Republican Information and Computing Center.
Pavel Gontsov, Director of the branch of PJSC Rostelecom in the Republic of Tatarstan, also noted: "We are faced with the task of deploying the first network of weather stations in Tatarstan. The plans include covering an area of more than three million hectares in 43 districts of the republic. After the monitoring system starts working, all the information received will be sent to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan."
Rostelecom's industry experts create and implement comprehensive IT solutions for enterprises operating in the mining, industrial, agricultural and fuel and energy sectors in 16 of Russia's largest regions as part of the Territories project.
The project is a component of the Digital Economy national project that is relevant for the region.
