During the working meeting, the agricultural potential of Tatarstan was presented. Representatives of the delegation noted that the Republic of Tatarstan is one of the most developed regions of Russia, and providing the population with food remains one of the most important factors of social stability.
Tatarstan has more than 4.5 million hectares of agricultural land, of which 3.3 million hectares are arable land. The rural population is 930 thousand people, or every fourth resident of the republic. About 140 thousand people are employed in the industry, or about 7% of the economically active population of the republic.
In terms of agricultural production, the region is among the top five in Russia. With 2% of the country's agricultural land, it produces up to 4% of its agricultural products. The republic is also the undisputed leader in milk production among the subjects of the Russian Federation - more than 6% of the total volume, and is consistently among the top ten producers of basic products: meat, grain, potatoes, sugar beets and eggs. The population of the republic is provided with all basic food products in full.
Representatives of Tajikistan were also informed about social programs operating in rural areas. This includes the modernization of primary health care, the construction of cultural centers, sports grounds and other facilities. Much work is being done within the framework of the state program of the Russian Federation "Integrated Development of Rural Areas". Last year, 3 billion rubles were allocated for its implementation.
This year, this work is being implemented on a larger scale, the amount of funds has been increased to 5 billion rubles. Thanks to the program, new objects have appeared on the map of the republic, which will become an adornment of rural areas and a place for citizens to relax.
In total, there are 400 agricultural formations in the republic (2,500 peasant farms, 417000 personal subsidiary farms).
The Republic of Tatarstan is interested in attracting labor force through organized recruitment from Tajikistan due to the shortage of employees; organizations in the Russian region have many vacancies.
Klara Tazetdinova noted that large industrial enterprises and the Alabuga special economic zone operate in the Republic of Tatarstan, but there is a personnel shortage.
Also, as part of the working trip, the delegation went to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Committee on Primary and Secondary Vocational Education under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, where they met with the directors of colleges in Dushanbe.
