The Ministry summed up the results of livestock production for 7 months
Today, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan held a meeting on the results of livestock production for 7 months of the current year, chaired by Deputy Minister Gelyus Bayazitov. It was attended by livestock consultants, heads of selection and breeding services of the departments of agriculture and food in municipal districts and other responsible persons.
The head of the department for the development of livestock industries, Siren Nigmatzyanov, reported that over 7 months, more than 1,036.8 thousand tons of milk were produced in agricultural formations of the republic, with a 7% increase compared to 2023. The average milk yield per cow was 4 thousand 846 kg of milk, and there is a 7% increase compared to last year. 239.9 thousand tons of meat were produced, 99.9% compared to last year. The dynamics of cattle and poultry meat production is -2%. Pig production is 3% higher than last year.
Negative dynamics are observed in the number of cattle, cows, horses, sheep and goats. During the year, more than 31 thousand heads of cattle were lost, including about 3 thousand heads of cows, about 6 thousand sheep and goats were also missing, and more than 900 heads of horses. Positive dynamics are observed in the number of birds and pigs, compared to the period of the current year, the number of pigs increased by 2 thousand heads, birds by 204 thousand heads or by 0.6 and 14%, respectively, noted Siren Nigmatzyanov.
The head of the livestock development department identified areas with positive dynamics of cattle population, these are Menzelinsky, Bugulminsky, Arsky, Sabinsky, Baltasinsky, Muslyumovsky, Yelabuga, Agryzsky and Kukmorsky municipal districts, in which the maximum increase was achieved as of August 1, 2024.
The pig population in the republic is mainly concentrated in 6 large pig-breeding complexes. As of August 1 of this year, they contain more than 456 thousand heads of pigs, with a plus of 2 thousand to the level of 23 years. The greatest growth is observed in pig farms of certain districts of the Republic of Tatarstan, these are Kamsky Bekon LLC of the Tukaevsky district, Tatmitagro LLC of the Sabinsky district and Navruz LLC of the Agryz municipal district.
