The IX All-Russian Congress of the V.V. Dokuchaev Soil Science Society Opens in Kazan
Today, the opening of the IX All-Russian Congress of the V.V. Dokuchaev Soil Science Society took place in the IT Park. It was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Minister Dmitry Yashin, representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Kazan Federal University.
The congress includes a scientific program dedicated to current issues of modern soil science, agriculture, soil reclamation, as well as global functions of soils and soil cover in the biosphere and human life.
“The congress brought together representatives of various regions of the Russian Federation, for whom agriculture has always been a priority area of the economy, and it is important to discuss issues of preserving and restoring soil fertility as the basis for the country's food security,” said Marat Zyabbarov.
The congress includes symposia on geoinformation technologies in soil science, soil archives of paleoecological information, landscape-ecological problems of agronomic soil science, soil formation, reclamation and horizons of genetic soil science.
