Belarus and Tatarstan exchanged experience in crop production
A working meeting on the exchange of experience in crop production, including seed production, was held at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus. Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Dmitry Yashin took part in it.
As part of the working trip, Dmitry Yashin visited Bozhedary LLC, where he got acquainted with the practical aspects of seed production and agribusiness in Belarus. He also studied the experience in approaches and preparation of seeds of Belarusian and foreign selection, got acquainted with the seed line of small-seeded crops and herbs at Nesvizhsky Agrokombinat CJSC.
During the meeting at the Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus, issues related to the structure of the seed production system of Belarus and the organization of relations between the state, breeding centers and seed farms, as well as issues of motivation of breeding centers and seed farms, general approaches to state support of the agricultural sector, in particular seed production, were discussed. They also discussed systems for monitoring varietal and sowing qualities of seeds of agricultural crops, accreditation of laboratories, certification of seeds, organization of supervision over the spread of quarantine objects, as well as maintaining a register of approved varieties of agricultural crops, selection of sugar beet, corn, sunflower, forage grasses and other crops.
