The company signed an agreement on the creation in the Republic of Tatarstan of a specialized high-tech facility for high-speed grain transshipment with a capacity of 8 million tons per year with the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan within the framework of the XV international economic forum “Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum”. The overland grain hub will appear in geographic proximity to the largest international logistics complex named after Deng Xiaoping as part of the development of the “Grain+” logistics model and the replication of the technology of overland rail transshipment of bulk cargo.
Today in the Republic of Tatarstan there is a 70/30 disproportion - import cargo flow exceeds export traffic. The reason is expensive logistics, which is dictated by the lack of access to “high water” and geographical distance from large markets. The logistics model “Grain+” using the “land grain fleet” of the NSZK group of companies, which ensures 100% loading of railway vehicles in “both directions”, guarantees the Republic competitive logistics. Specialized grain containers with grain cargo will be sent from the Grain Hub in the export direction, and consumer goods, automotive components and other components for manufacturing enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan will be sent back in the same special containers. This minimizes empty runs of railway vehicles, dramatically improving logistics economics.
The cargo base is grain produced in the Republic of Tatarstan and the regions of the Volga Federal District, consolidated at the Grain Hub. Target supply markets are China, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and others. Return cargo in the amount of up to 200 thousand TEU per year in special containers will be delivered to regional transport and logistics centers, with which the Grain Hub will work in technological connection and partnership. This will stimulate the implementation of the annual surplus of grain in the Republic (more than one million tons) and will create conditions for increasing the volume of its production.
