This year Tatarstan plans to export halal products worth $16 million. The Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov told reporters about this at KazanForum.
“Last year, we exported $450 million worth of agricultural products, including almost $12 million worth of products produced according to Halal standards,” said the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
According to him, more than 100 enterprises in the republic produce Halal products, of which about 30 are export-oriented.
“A large number of delegations come to Tatarstan to visit enterprises that produce products according to Halal standards. There is interest in these products and a need for them,” Zyabbarov emphasized.
For four months of this year, the export of Halal products amounted to more than 4 million US dollars. Dairy, meat and confectionery products are mainly exported.
Key importers of halal products are the CIS countries, Mongolia, Brazil, Iraq, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Algeria.
