On March 16, traditional agricultural fairs began in the republic at 14 sites in the city of Kazan, 2 sites in Naberezhnye Chelny and the Zelenodolsk region, 3 sites in Nizhnekamsk and with varying frequency in municipal areas.
The fairgrounds in Kazan were inspected last Saturday by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov.
“Traditionally, our fairs are in great demand among the population. We don’t see any kind of excitement; if at the first fairs there was an increased demand for eggs, now there are no queues,” noted Marat Zyabbarov.
Based on the results of 5 fair weeks, agricultural products were sold for a total amount of 340.9 million rubles, of which 522.6 tons of vegetables, including 282.6 tons of potatoes, 89.3 tons of bottled milk, 203.6 tons of sugar , 1,112.1 thousand pieces of chicken eggs, 425.4 tons of meat, including 223.5 tons of beef.
33 municipal districts and 4,005 transport units were involved in holding the fairs. The fairs are scheduled to run until April 28, 2024.
