Today, the State Council held a meeting of the Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources, Agro-Industrial and Food Policy, at which deputies reviewed a report on the results of the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic for 2023 in the areas under the authority of the relevant committee. In addition, parliamentarians supported the draft federal law amending the Federal Law on livestock breeding.
First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Lenar Garipov spoke about the results of the activities of the republic's agro-industrial complex. He noted that the agro-industrial complex of the republic fully provides Tatarstan residents with the main types of agricultural products. For meat and grain this figure is more than 100%, for milk - more than 150%, for sugar - over 200%, for vegetable oil the supply is more than 7 times higher than the norm.
At the end of last year, Tatarstan firmly ranked first in the country in milk production (6.5% of the total volume of the Russian Federation), 6th place in egg production (3.3%), 8th place in meat and poultry production (3.1%). In 2023, 2.2 million tons of milk, 512.9 thousand tons of meat and poultry, and 1.7 billion eggs were produced.
Lenar Garipov informed the deputies about preparations for spring field work.
Some districts have begun feeding perennial grasses and winter crops. The first to start working on perennial crops were in the Aznakaevsky, Zainsky and Nizhnekamsky regions. Today work has begun in 21 districts. They feed with the help of small aircraft in Alkeevsky (5 aircraft), Zelenodolsk (1 aircraft), Verkhneuslonsky (1 aircraft), Apastovsky (2 aircraft), Buinsky (1 aircraft) and Tetyushsky (3 aircraft) regions.
“Taking into account market conditions, there are some changes in the structure of sown areas. Farms plan to increase the area of rapeseed and sunflower by 36 thousand hectares, corn by 10 thousand hectares. We are planning a slight increase in sugar beets. The area of potatoes and vegetables is 6.0 thousand hectares, which is slightly lower than last year,” noted the First Deputy Minister.
To provide seasonal field work with fuel, agreements were reached with Tatneft and TAIF companies to supply diesel fuel to rural enterprises of the republic in the amount of 140 thousand tons.
This year, 13.6 billion rubles are provided for state support of the agro-industrial complex.
“Also, given the low purchase prices for grain and milk, the Ministry is making every effort to proactively bring funds to recipients. Currently, the republic’s farms have received state support in the amount of 3.6 billion rubles,” said Lenar Garipov.
Summing up the discussion of the Government Report, Chairman of the Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources, Agro-Industrial and Food Policy Azat Khamaev noted the coordinated work of the executive authorities, thanks to which it was possible to almost fully implement the plans, fulfill the tasks and obligations facing the republic for the implementation of regional and national projects . “In the current conditions, agriculture is becoming one of the key sectors of the economy, and food security is the key to the country’s sovereignty,” said the parliamentarian. “One of the primary tasks facing villagers at the present period is the successful implementation of spring field work. The report noted that the republic has all the necessary resources for this."
Azat Khamaev emphasized the need to continue active work to increase business activity in rural areas, support domestic producers, develop private household plots and agricultural cooperatives.
