On March 16, traditional agricultural fairs began in the republic at 14 sites in the city of Kazan, 2 sites in Naberezhnye Chelny and the Zelenodolsk region, 3 sites in Nizhnekamsk and with varying frequency in municipal areas.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov inspected the work of sites in the city of Kazan.
As a result of the first fairs, agricultural products were sold for a total amount of 71.1 million rubles, of which 106.8 tons of vegetables, including 60.2 tons of potatoes, 16.5 tons of bottled milk, 44.1 tons of sugar, 246, 1 thousand pieces chicken eggs, 87.8 tons of meat, including 48.0 tons of beef.
“Even though today is the first spring fair, there are a lot of visitors. Increased demand is observed for vegetables, eggs and dairy products,” noted Marat Zyabbarov.
33 municipal districts and 787 transport units were involved in holding the fairs.
The fairs are scheduled until April 28, 2024.
