5 March 2024, Tuesday

Today, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan held a meeting of the Council and Presidium of the Association of Farmers, Peasant Farmsteads and Agricultural Consumer Cooperatives. The congress was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov and President of the Association of Farmers, Farmsteads and Agricultural Consumer Cooperatives of the Republic of Tatarstan Kamiyar Baitemirov.

“Today, as part of the farmers’ congress, we will discuss pressing issues to which we will try to find answers and solutions. We  will have to make the coming 2024 effective and successful. For this we have all the tools and state support,” noted Marat Zyabbarov.

Farmers produced 205 thousand tons of milk, 25 thousand tons of meat, 28 million eggs, 864 thousand tons of grain, 24 thousand tons of potatoes, 35.4 thousand tons of vegetables. The number of cattle on farms is 99 thousand heads including 36.4 thousand cows, 37 thousand heads sheep and goats, 1691 thousand heads of birds.

In total, for 2024, direct support for small businesses is provided in 6 areas with federal participation and 9 republican ones for a total amount of 1.2 billion rubles.

With federal co-financing, 551.3 million rubles have been allocated; for the first time, competitive selection of projects will be carried out through the “Electronic Budget” system. Republican support measures of 696 million rubles are allocated for 9 areas.

“We need to make the most of this support; it is unprecedented throughout the country. Here I would like to express my deep gratitude to our Rais Rustam Nurgalievich, Chairman of the State Council Farid Khairulovich for their constant attention and understanding to the problems and concerns of the villagers,” he emphasized.

In his report, Kamiyar Baitemirov reported that today the number of cattle in households is 270 thousand heads, including 99.9 thousand heads of cows. The number of private household plots with land plots over the past 5 years has increased by 11 thousand units to 417 thousand units. The land area of private household plots over 5 years increased by 500 hectares to 114.7 thousand hectares.

Today it is generally accepted that peasant (farm) holdings, peasant farmsteads and agricultural consumer cooperatives demonstrate high rates of development compared to other organizational and legal forms. In the total volume of gross agricultural production of the Republic of Tatarstan, small farms produced 44.3%. We received subsidies for the production of agricultural products and processing under several programs, including Grant support of 3 billion 50 million 587 thousand rubles or 16.8% of 18 billion 152 million 289 thousand allocated in general for the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Large and medium-sized enterprises received 15 billion 101 million 702 thousand rubles in form of subsidies, or 5 times more than peasant farms, private household plots and private enterprises combined. In this case, large and medium-sized farms should receive 5 times more products.
“We still believe in supporting those who work more efficiently. The development of small farms in the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Tatarstan must be given a new impetus,” noted Kamiyar Baitemirov.

In his opinion, it is necessary to improve the Laws and procedures for the implementation of state support; administrative and economic mechanism for ensuring the profitability of microfinance enterprises, including through the use of advanced technologies in peasant farms, agricultural consumer cooperatives and private household plots, in production, processing and digitalization of the entire technological chain in farms.

At the end of the meeting, an award ceremony was held for the winners of the republican competition “Family Farming Dynasty of the Republic of Tatarstan”.

Departmental awards, certificates of honor and letters of gratitude were also presented for many years of fruitful work.
