Today, within the framework of the VI specialized agricultural exhibition of agricultural achievements - “TatAgroExpo”, a round table meeting was held on the topic “Development of the Russian dairy industry: results of 2023 and forecast for 2024.”
It was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, First Deputy Minister Lenar Garipov, General Director of the National Union of Milk Producers Artem Belov, General Director of the Union of Milk Producers of Tatarstan Denis Pirogov.
“Traditionally, the Republic of Tatarstan holds a leading position in the Russian Federation in terms of production and processing of raw milk. At the end of last year, milk production exceeded 2 million 190 thousand tons,” noted Marat Zyabbarov.
Work continues on the construction and modernization of modern dairy complexes, increasing the genetic potential of livestock, and improving reproduction and feeding systems. The result of the ongoing activities allowed us to cross the average productivity of cows in the republic at 7773 (an increase of +9% or +648 kg compared to last year).
In 2023, thanks to the support of the leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan, agricultural producers received additional payments at the rate of more than 3 rubles per 1 kg of milk sold, in the amount of 523 million rubles.
For the current year, the main directions of state support for dairy cattle breeding, including support for livestock breeding, have been preserved. In 2024, 1.3 billion rubles are allocated to support livestock breeding, of which 1.2 billion will go to dairy cattle breeding.
Starting this year, changes are being made to subsidize the construction and modernization of livestock buildings. Until 2023, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture provided state support for the construction of dairy farms with a capacity of 400 or more animals at the rate of 25% of the direct costs incurred.
From 2024, only livestock farms with a capacity of 1,000 animals or more will be subsidized from the federal budget, based on reimbursement of 30% of the direct costs incurred for construction and installation work.
As Marat Zyabbarov noted, the construction of livestock farms with a capacity of 400 to 1000 animals will continue. This year it is planned to build 5 such facilities for 2,684 cattle places, in 2025 – 5 for 2,100 cattle places and in 2026 – 6 facilities for 2,728 cattle places. For these facilities, a subsidy from the budget of the Republic of Tatarstan remains to reimburse the purchase of machinery and equipment.
