The delegation of the republic is headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov.
At the end of last year, trade turnover between Turkey and Tatarstan amounted to $1.2 billion, showing more than double growth. There are 10 Turkish factories operating in the republic, and the total investment in Tatarstan amounted to about two billion dollars.
As part of the extended meeting, a presentation of Tatarstan’s potential for Turkish companies took place.
Marat Zyabbarov noted that the gross territorial product of Tatarstan is constantly growing. In 2022 it amounted to 3.87 trillion rubles. Tatarstan is an industrial republic, this is evident from the structure of GRP, where a significant share is occupied by mining, which amounts to 29.8%.
The industrial profile of the republic is determined by the petrochemical complex (oil production, production of synthetic rubber, tires, polyethylene and a wide range of petroleum products), large engineering enterprises producing competitive products (heavy trucks, helicopters, airplanes and aircraft engines, compressors and oil and gas pumping equipment, river and sea ships, a wide range of commercial and passenger cars).
According to data for 2022: Tatarstan produces 46% of Russian rubber, 56.4% of truck tires, 37.3% of trucks, 29.9% of ethylene polymers.
There is also something to be proud of in the agricultural sector.
“Occupying 2.0% of the country’s agricultural land, the Republic’s share in the all-Russian agricultural production is about 4.0% (based on the results of 2022). The region's gross agricultural output is among the top five in Russia. And, undoubtedly, for many years now the region has been a leader in the production of commercial milk, occupying 1st place among the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, with more than 6% of the country’s total milk,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
The republic is also consistently among the top 10 producers of basic products such as meat, grain, potatoes, sugar beets and eggs.
The Republic of Tatarstan consistently occupies one of the first three places in the National ranking of the investment climate in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. This is possible due to the fact that there are 7 sites in Tatarstan with federal tax incentives. There are no such examples among the regions of the country.
On the territory of the republic there are two special economic zones - SEZ "Alabuga" and "Innopolis", as well as 5 territories of advanced socio-economic development: Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Chistopol, Zelenodolsk and Mendeleevsk.
The Association of Independent Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkey includes more than 14 thousand businessmen.
The Association's management expressed the hope that the visit of the Tatarstan delegation will help strengthen ties and in the future will allow it to expand its branch network and be represented in Russia.
“Excellent relations have developed between Tatarstan and Turkey; they go beyond business cooperation and have already become fraternal. This helps our countries develop. We, as businessmen, must make every effort to take advantage of these opportunities,” noted Mahmut Asmaly, Chairman of the Board of MÜSİAD, addressing the delegation of Tatarstan.
