The head of the Department of Biology, Genetics and Animal Breeding, Ilnur Kamaldinov, and Professor Ravil Khaertdinov organized an on-site lesson for 4th year students in the Zootechnics discipline in the discipline Breeding at the Department of Breeding and Animal Reproduction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Future specialists were told that the department of breeding and animal reproduction deals with issues of compliance of breeding work on farms with the regulatory framework in livestock farming. Namely, the issues of registration of breeding farms in the state breeding register, which allows farms to conduct breeding work at a high methodological level and receive state support for these purposes. The department also provides assistance in issuing breeding certificates for the sale of breeding animals and semen; oversees the development of livestock breeding in areas of productivity; forms a set of reports by farm and sends it to the federal ministry. The department’s specialists are leading projects to develop breeding and create a genomic assessment of dairy cattle productivity.
In conclusion, the students visited the Museum of the History of Agriculture of Tatarstan, where the director of the museum, Nail Sabirov, spoke about the stages of formation of the agricultural industry in our republic.
