The keys to LADA Niva Travel cars were presented today to state veterinary institutions by the Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin. 30 cars were handed over to veterinarians in different regions by decision of the Rais of the Republic Rustam Minnikhanov.

“These vehicles will help to quickly provide veterinary care, effectively carry out preventive measures, as well as measures to eliminate infectious animal diseases,” said the head of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan at a ceremony in Kazan.

Pesoshin emphasized that thanks to the coordinated work of the entire agricultural complex of Tatarstan, an important part of which is the veterinary service, the republic remains one of the leading regions of Russia.

In terms of agricultural development, Tatarstan is in fifth place in the country and first in the Volga Federal District, he recalled.

“The veterinary service is entrusted with the responsible task of preventing the occurrence of dangerous diseases. Without proper veterinary support, it is impossible to preserve and develop livestock farming and produce quality products,” noted the Prime Minister.

According to him, modern veterinarians and paramedics must meet the requirements of the time, be professionals in their field, competent performers, and also be able to provide timely veterinary care, including in remote, hard-to-reach places.

“In this regard, strengthening the material and technical base of veterinary institutions is of particular relevance,” Pesoshin noted.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia Maxim Uvaidov added that agriculture and livestock farming are seriously developing in Tatarstan.

“In the region, more than anywhere else, they understand that the veterinary service must also develop. We must develop agriculture to ensure food security for the entire country,” he said.

Uvaidov thanked the leadership of Tatarstan for the attention paid to the veterinary service. “I am confident that our epizootic welfare is in good hands,” he concluded.

The event was also attended by the head of the Main Veterinary Department of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan Almaz Khisamutdinov, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov and others.
