This season, for the first time, instead of anhydrous (gaseous) ammonia, ammonia water is added to the crops of winter wheat and spring rape by the August-Agro agricultural company. The solution is prepared entirely on its own mixing systems (“cassette cookers”), which are currently equipped in all the holding’s farms. The total area for applying nitrogen fertilizer is 61 thousand hectares. 15 units of liquidizers are involved.
Unlike ammonia gas, which can evaporate from the soil in the absence of precipitation, ammonia water is guaranteed to feed plants with nitrogen. For winter wheat, 46 kg of a.i. is applied, and for rapeseed - 72 kg of a.i.
Multi-injectors work delicately, injecting nitrogen in liquid form into the inner layers of the soil without destroying the top layers of soil and plant residues, which is especially important for the No-Till farming technology practiced by the holding.
Preliminary calculations have shown that savings from introducing a new approach to autumn fertilizing will amount to 2 thousand rubles per hectare. Farmers will be able to evaluate the effectiveness of using nitrogen fertilizer in the form of ammonia water only after the next harvest in 2024.
