Today, as part of the Kazan Digital Week 2023 forum, a round table “Exchange of experience in digitalization of the regional agro-industrial complex” was held. The Republic of Tatarstan was represented by the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Lenar Garipov.
He spoke about the digital transformation of the agro-industrial complex in the republic. “In the second quarter of this year, the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Tatarstan took first place in the dynamic ranking of regions for digitalization. This result is well-deserved and was achieved thanks to our systematic work on digitizing data in agriculture,” he noted.
The Ministry was assigned several important tasks, which are presented on the slides. However, the main goal was not simply digitalization for the sake of digitalization, but to achieve growth in agricultural productivity. For this purpose, the following tools to support farmers have been developed:
Automation support program for agribusiness;
Advanced training program for farm managers to provide the necessary knowledge and skills in the field of digital technologies;
State Information System of the Agro-Industrial Complex. In 2022, the information system of the agro-industrial complex of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan was given state status.
Using direct communication with agricultural producers and their information systems, this GIS provides accessible and understandable analytics for farmers, districts, as well as federal and regional authorities. The key user is the ministry, and this allows us to receive reliable operational information on the industry, quickly respond to indicators and make effective decisions.
In the first year of the project to develop the State Information System, based on the experience of working with data from JSC “RIVC”, 9 modules were developed, which are already actively used by agricultural producers and control and supervisory authorities.
Another key module of the system is the Analytical Module - it analyzes information about livestock farming, crop production, mechanization and economics. Currently, more than 3.5 thousand users are registered in the system, who are given the opportunity to study current information based on daily collected data.
Using the analytical module of the system using artificial intelligence methods, the digitalization of agricultural land was carried out, which made it possible to obtain complete information about each hectare. Thanks to the joint work of the ministry and Rosselkhoznadzor, 35,732 hectares of land were brought into circulation in 2022.
Currently, the republic is actively working on the introduction of modern digital technologies and automation systems in agribusiness. The main goal of this work is data-based enterprise management, which leads to increased productivity, improved product quality and reduced costs.
He further focused on the importance of introducing digital solutions in the livestock industry.
“The introduction of digital technologies in agricultural enterprises with a dairy herd of 200 or more heads is especially justified. At the moment, there are 181 such farms out of a total of 216. These farms contain 174 thousand cows, which is 77% of the total number of milking animals in agricultural formations. In order for the state system to receive correct data, a program to support the automation of agricultural producers was developed,” Lenar Garipov emphasized.
In conclusion, the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan assured that training of agricultural producers to work with digital products and increasing the importance of the course “Digital Transformation in the Agro-Industrial Complex” will continue.
