The Kazan Digital Week forum has become one of the hallmarks of the Republic of Tatarstan and annually attracts great interest from the professional community. This was stated by Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov at the plenary session of the international forum Kazan Digital Week-2023. The work was attended by the Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Maksut Shadayev, representatives of a number of federal ministries and departments, General Director of the Agency for the Development of Professions and Skills Robert Urazov, as well as heads of leading companies in the IT field.
In his video greeting, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin noted that having received federal status, Kazan Digital Week has become an additional channel that allows to receive feedback from the business community and take its opinion into account when developing the most important government decisions. “I am confident that the proposals that will be made at the forum these days will make a significant contribution to the implementation of the instructions of the President of Russia to achieve technological sovereignty,” the Prime Minister added.
Mikhail Mishustin said that the Federal Government is taking measures to create the most comfortable conditions for the IT business. To stimulate the emergence of new products and their implementation, a number of different instruments have been launched, including tax preferences, targeted assistance packages, preferential loans and grants.
“Now the demand for Russian technologies is gaining momentum. Over the past year it has increased more than 10 times. And the volume of sales of its own solutions and services increased by almost a quarter and exceeded 2 trillion rubles. More than 820 thousand programmers work in Russia, which is 15% more than a year earlier,” stated the Prime Minister.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that today there is fierce competition in the world in the field of digital technologies. Sanctions are one of its tools. “The president of the country has set the task of achieving technological independence. This is a matter of national security. We must use all resources and groundwork to achieve this goal,” he emphasized.
Also today, on the sidelines of the forum, a round table “Exchange of experience in digitalization of the regional agro-industrial complex” will be held, at which First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Lenar Garipov will make a presentation.
