Today at Kazan Expo the opening of the first international economic Russian-Chinese forum “ROSTKI” took place. The ceremonial opening was attended by Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov and other officials.
“An important task that needs to be solved in the near future is to increase the sustainability of the production sector in the new conditions. China is a reliable partner in achieving our goals,” Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized.
Rais of Tatarstan noted that the business program of the forum includes 40 sessions in 11 thematic areas. They touch upon the most pressing issues of bilateral cooperation. Also for the forum participants, the exhibition “Russia China Expo” was organized, where major Russian and Chinese investment and infrastructure projects, as well as a number of organizations in the mechanical engineering and metalworking complex, are presented. Various models of Chinese cars are presented on a separate site.
The cultural and sports program occupies an important place within the forum. Rustam Minnikhanov noted that these days Kazan will host a friendly chess tournament between teams of sister cities of the Russian Federation and China, a hockey match between Ak Bars and Kunlun Red Star, a youth festival of Russian-Chinese friendship, a Chinese film festival and much more .
“We are waiting for specific agreements and the signing of mutually beneficial agreements between Russian and Chinese companies within the framework of the forum”. Rustam Minnikhanov added that next year the forum in Kazan is planned to be organized on November 14-15.
Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Mardan Mukiyit highly appreciated the potential of Russian-Chinese interaction. “Mutually beneficial and complementary cooperation is our common goal. We believe that through our efforts we will be able to identify new ways to develop our business ties,” he said.
“The leaders of our countries, with their friendly attitude, laid a good foundation for long-term cooperation between Russia and China. This requires specific projects. I believe that the format of this forum will contribute to achieving this goal,” emphasized the Governor of the Kirov Region, Alexander Sokolov.
“Today China is our largest trading partner, not only in the timber industry, but also in a number of other industries. We are interested in developing our comprehensive contacts. I am confident that holding this forum will strengthen our ties,” emphasized the head of the Komi Republic, Vladimir Uiba.
Advisor on Trade and Economic Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in the Russian Federation, Yu Hongchi, highly appreciated the level of organization of the forum and noted the growing trade turnover between China and Russian regions, including Tatarstan.
Then Rustam Minnikhanov and the rest of the guests got acquainted with the exhibition. In particular, stands of large petrochemical enterprises of Tatarstan, Russian and Chinese representatives of the machine tool industry, as well as scientific and educational institutions are presented here. In addition, the Rais of the Republic examined more than 30 models of Chinese cars.
