Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev today. The meeting was held at the House of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. At the meeting, they discussed the prospects for the development of the agro-industrial complex of the republic, issues of increasing agricultural production and improving the quality of life in rural areas.
Separately, they dwelled on the situation with the drought. Rustam Minnikhanov noted that due to summer frosts and lack of precipitation, a decrease in the yield of fodder and grain crops is expected. In this regard, the parties discussed possible measures to support the affected farms.
In general, the minister noted that agriculture in the republic is developing steadily and strengthening the results. “In 2022, the agricultural production index amounted to almost 126% - this is one of the highest indicators in the country,” Dmitry Patrushev said.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture stressed that Tatarstan is traditionally one of the largest recipients of state support through the agro-industrial complex. At the moment, about 60% has been disbursed, including the funds provided for grain producers.
Speaking about the development of animal husbandry, the minister noted that at the end of last year, the region remains the leader in the country in terms of milk production - over 2 million tons in 2022.
Dmitry Patrushev also highly appreciated the work carried out in the republic with fertilizers and the development of the reclamation complex. In addition, Tatarstan traditionally actively participates in the implementation of the state program "Integrated Development of Rural Territories". In 2022, 1.5 billion rubles were allocated for these purposes, and the current amount of funding has grown to 2 billion rubles. Key projects are related to the construction of roads, social facilities and utilities.
Dmitry Patrushev is in Tatarstan on a working trip. As part of the visit, the minister will take part in the All-Russian Field Day 2023 agricultural technology exhibition, as well as visit a number of agricultural enterprises and social facilities in rural areas.
