Today, as part of the All-Russian Field Day 2023, a meeting of the commission of the State Council of the Russian Federation in the direction of agriculture was held. It was attended by Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kashin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Elena Fastova, Governor of the Altai Territory Viktor Tomenko.

Topical issues of ensuring the technological sovereignty of the country's agro-industrial complex were discussed at the meeting. They touched upon the topic of plant protection products, discussed the state and prospects for the development of the domestic market of breeding and seed production.

Alexey Pesoshin presented the possibilities of Tatarstan's agro-industrial complex. “The Republic of Tatarstan, under the leadership of Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov and thanks to the constant support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, makes a significant contribution to ensuring the country's food security,” the Prime Minister noted.

Among the Russian regions, the republic occupies:

1st place - in milk production;
2nd place - for the production of potatoes;
8th place - for the production of livestock and poultry meat for slaughter;
9th place - for the production of eggs;
9th place - for the collection of grain;
10th place - for the collection of sugar beets.

In 2022, a worthy crop of grain was harvested - more than 5.2 million tons, sugar beet - 1.8 million tons, potatoes - more than 900 thousand tons, oilseeds - 620 thousand tons, vegetables - 266 thousand tons.

Alexey Pesoshin paid special attention to the technological support of production.


Since 2012, the republican program "Technical and technological modernization of agricultural production" has been launched with subsidizing part of the costs. Since the beginning of the program, 28 thousand units of equipment have been purchased for a total of 60 billion rubles.

Every year, 1.8 billion rubles are allocated from the republican budget for technical and technological modernization.

In 2022, more than 3,000 units of agricultural machinery were updated, including 763 agricultural machinery purchased under the preferential programs of Rosagroleasing.

Over the past year, the energy supply per 100 hectares of crops increased to 176 hp, in 2023 it is planned to increase it to 179 hp.

Together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, work continues on import substitution. More than 11% of tractors and about 30% of agricultural machines in the republic are imported.

“Today, the exhibition presents agricultural machinery only of Russian production and friendly countries of Russia, which allows you to carry out the entire range of agricultural work and successfully conduct agricultural business,” the Head of Government emphasized.

Vladimir Kashin, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Agrarian Issues, cited Tatarstan as an example region that has not reduced its sown area. “In some regions of the Volga region, the sown area has decreased several times - by 2.6 or 2.7 times,” Kashin said. 

He also noted that in Tatarstan over the past 20 years, despite the frequent drought, there was not a single fire.
