It was announced by First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Nail Zalakov at a meeting in the Government House.
“During agrotechnical work and planning the placement of crops, it is necessary to take into account the interests of beekeeping. The Republic is actively developing this industry and is one of the top three leaders in Russia,” he said.
To date, there are more than 11 thousand apiaries in Tatarstan. Every year volume of honey production increases. In 2022, more than 5.5 thousand tons of marketable honey were produced, there was an increase of 7% by 2021.
According to the Office of the Rosselkhoznadzor, in 2022, 33 appeals were registered regarding violations of the regulations for the use of pesticides and agrochemicals, including 13 appeals regarding the death of bees after rapeseed and sunflower fields were treated.
In this regard, to prevent such incidents, the Ministry has taken preventive measures. The key one among them is advanced training of agronomists and farm managers on the use of safe technologies in the cultivation of oilseeds in order to protect bees. In total, more than 130 specialists from 43 districts were trained.
“Since the beginning of 2023, we have been holding meetings with the participation of beekeepers, agronomists, farm managers and representatives of the control and supervisory authorities of the republic. For 2 months, 37 meetings were held, more than 1200 people became participants. The main task is to ensure the interaction of beekeepers and agricultural enterprises,” said Nail Zalakov.
He also noted that in 2022, farmers were recommended to organize the sowing of honey plants in order to form protective strips and limit flights to cultivated fields. This year the total area of such crops will exceed 30,000 hectares.
