Marat Zyabbarov: "Achieving high performance in animal husbandry is impossible without a veterinary service and maintaining stable epizootic well-being"

Today, the final joint collegium of the Main Department of Veterinary Medicine of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Department of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance in the Republic of Tatarstan took place at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The event was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov.

Director of the Veterinary Department Maria Novikova, adviser to the head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Nikita Lebedev, heads of state veterinary associations, heads of territorial departments of the state veterinary inspection took part in the work.

Almaz Khisamutdinov, Head of the Main Department of Veterinary Medicine of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, spoke on the main issue of the agenda with a report “On the results of the work of the state veterinary service of the republic in 2022 and priority tasks for 2023”.
According to him, 2022 was not an easy year for the veterinary service and for the entire sphere of Russian farmers. In total, during the year, more than 27 thousand of horses, more than 870 thousand cattle, about 203 thousand small cattle were vaccinated, together with specialists from the State Committee for Biological Resources, 1 million 243 thousand baits with oral vaccine for wild carnivores were decomposed.

The issues of African swine fever were raised. The Republic of Tatarstan is also included in the list of regions where the disease has been recorded. During the year, 11 outbreaks were identified, including 5 among wild boars. The Veterinary Service, together with the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Republic of Tatarstan and the Committee on Biological Resources, carried out a set of anti-epizootic measures to eliminate these foci and prevent further spread of the infection.

At the end of 2022, the incidence of bovine leukemia is 3.3%. Compared to 2021, the infection rate decreased by 1.9%. A high level of leukemia infection remains in the Leninogorsk and Novosheshminsky districts. There are problems in Cheremshansky, Laishevsky, Kamsko-Ustyinsky, Spassky districts. In Tukayevsky, Baltasinsky, Yelabuga, Sabinsky, Kukmorsky, Atninsky, Sarmanovsky, Tyulyachinsky, Arsky districts, it was possible to keep almost zero indicators.

The Republic of Tatarstan occupies a leading position among the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in terms of supplies of finished food products to the Russian market. Most of these products go through veterinary and sanitary examination.
That is why the Veterinary Administration decided to declare 2023 the year of veterinary and sanitary examination.

During the meeting, the head of the Department of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance in the Republic of Tatarstan, Ilnur Galeev, also presented a report. He reported on the results of the work of the Office of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2022 and priority tasks for 2023. Thanks to the prompt and coordinated actions of the employees of the Department and the Main Department of Veterinary Medicine, it was possible to stop the foci of the disease in a timely manner, quarantine was lifted in all disadvantaged areas as soon as possible.
Continuing the work, the members of the board were greeted by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov. He stressed that the achievement of high performance in animal husbandry, as well as the development of the industry, is impossible without the veterinary service and maintaining stable epizootic well-being.
The board ended with an awards ceremony.
