Today, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan summed up the results of animal husbandry for 2022. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Lenar Garipov.
The event was attended by livestock consultants, heads of selection and breeding services of the departments of agriculture and food in municipal districts and other responsible persons.
The head of the Department for the Development of Livestock Industries, Siren Nigmatzyanov, briefed those present on the results of livestock breeding for 2022. In his speech, he focused on the issues of milk and meat production, as well as the analysis of the work of farms.
“Today we have 3.5 thousand heads of cows more in the republic, we must increase this figure. If there is no systematic work to increase and stabilize the milking stock, we will lose this advantage,” said Lenar Garipov.
Thanks to the improvement of the conditions for feeding and keeping livestock in 2022, more than 1.5 million tons of milk were produced in the agricultural formations of the republic, the number of cattle was 638 thousand heads, including cows - 227.9 thousand heads, pigs - 439.6 thousand heads, horses - 18.4 thousand heads, sheep - 49 thousand heads, goats - 4 thousand heads, birds - 15 million heads.
