Today the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Fedchenko visited the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was attended by First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nail Zalakov, Deputy Minister Rafael Fattakhov, department heads Siren Nigmatzyanov, Artur Shamsiev, rector of KSAU Airat Valeev, rector of KSAA Rustam Ravilov.
Nail Zalakov noted that the Republic of Belarus is our most important partner among friendly countries and presented the final indicators of the activities of the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Tatarstan for the past year.
“The Republic of Tatarstan occupies a leading position in the Volga Federal District in terms of gross agricultural output. The industry employs more than 140 thousand people, which is 7% of the economically active population of the republic. The agro-industrial complex forms about 7% of the gross regional product,” Nail Zalakov cited the figures.
In 2021, agricultural products worth $38.82 million were shipped to Belarus from the Republic of Tatarstan. As for imports, last year products worth $14.7 million were imported from the Republic of Belarus to Tatarstan.
Then Sergey Fedchenko spoke about the potential of the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Belarus. “The agricultural industry of the Republic of Belarus shows dynamic development. This year we plan to harvest about 11 million tons of grains and legumes. The main export potential of our republic is meat and dairy products,” he said.
Tatarstan expressed its readiness for cooperation in the implementation of joint investment projects, the creation of new service centers for agricultural machinery, and the opening of additional dealerships. The rector of KSAU Airat Valeev expressed interest in cooperation in the field of selection, and the rector of KSAU Rustam Ravilov noted that the university will continue to work on the exchange of students.
It should be reminded that yesterday the delegation headed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko was met by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
“Belarus is the most reliable partner of our country. People get to know each other in a difficult situation, and we see that the fraternal Belarusian people have always been and remain with us,” the President said at the meeting.
