Motor rally "Give milk a way!" started in Tatarstan

Today, the Ministry launched the anniversary rally "Give milk a way!". At the conference dedicated to the development of the dairy industry in the Republic of Tatarstan, prospects and problematic issues were discussed. It was attended by First Deputy Minister Nail Zalakov, Director General of the Dairy Market Research Center Mikhail Mishchenko, Head of the Livestock Industry Development Department of the Ministry Siren Nigmatzyanov, heads of farms and dairy processing enterprises.

Opening the conference, Nail Zalakov noted that milk is the basis of our agriculture, it is always a priority. “We produce almost 2 million tons and we are leaders among Russian regions. For us, this is a well-known motor rally, we are very pleased to welcome you to a symbolic place - the Palace of Farmers," the First Deputy Minister emphasized.

Siren Nigmatzyanov made a keynote speech on the state of the industry.

“Tatarstan ranks first in the Russian Federation in terms of milk production, having 6.1 percent of the total. Over the past 6 years, in agricultural organizations and farms, milk production has increased by 22.3%. There are more than 930 thousand cattle in the republic, including 321 thousand cows. Milk production in Tatarstan is higher than the consumption rate by 37%. In 2021, more than 1.958 million tons of milk were produced in the republic (plus 1% by 2020). For 6 months of 2022, 988 thousand tons of milk were produced, the increase compared to the level of 2021 was 1.6%,” he said.

Productivity (milk yield) for the first half of the year increased by 6%, in 2021 it was 6.6 thousand kg per cow per year, plans are to bring productivity to 6.9 thousand kg per head by the end of the year. Among the farms with a livestock of over 1 thousand heads, the leaders in terms of productivity were such farms as Tan LLC of the Atninsky district, PMK LLC of the Sabinsky district and Tukaevsky of the Atninsky district.

The construction of dairy farms continues in Tatarstan; in 2021, 20 dairy complexes were built for 14.6 thousand heads of livestock, which gave an increase in milk by 40 thousand tons. In 2022, 20 more dairy farms for 17,000 heads will be commissioned. According to the plans, in 2023 in Tatarstan the total production of raw milk should increase to 1.980 million tons, and by 2024 productivity should increase to 7 thousand kg per head per year.

“Give milk a way!” is an annual event that takes place in different regions of the country. This year, the rally participants will visit dairy enterprises of the republic in seven municipal districts.
