Rustam Minnikhanov and Mintimer Shaimiev visited the site of Sabantuy in the village of Mirny in Kazan
Today President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and State Councilor of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev visited the Tatar national holiday Sabantuy in Kazan. The RT President was accompanied by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov and others.
This year the celebration took place at three Kazan sites - in the villages of Mirny and Derbyshki, as well as in the forested area of lake Lebyazhye.
National farmsteads at all locations welcomed guests with games and creative master classes, an exhibition of products from municipal districts of Tatarstan, a fair of handicrafts. Folk festivals, traditional sports competitions, are provided for guests.
Rustam Minnikhanov visited the site of Sabantuy in Birch Grove (Mirny village). The guest of honor of the holiday was the governor of the Kemerovo region Sergey Tsivilev.
In particular, the guests visited the courtyards of the Kukmorsky municipal district, and also got acquainted with the sites organized by the Alekseevsky, Zainsky, Nurlatsky, Mendeleevsky municipal districts. The holiday opened with a theatrical prologue - the performance "Golden grains - Altyn orlyklar" on the main stage of Sabantuy. Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Governor of the Kemerovo region Sergey Tsivilev congratulated people.
Before the grand opening, Marat Zyabbarov congratulated leaders of the agro-industrial complex and veterans. He thanked them for their selfless work and contribution to the development of agriculture. 32 people were awarded.
