The head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan, Marat Zyabbarov, urged the inhabitants of the republic not to create an excessive demand for food. He stated this at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan.
“I urge the population not to create artificial excitement. The republic is provided with food in sufficient quantities,” the minister said.
In addition, Zyabbarov cited data from the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, according to which at present the grain supply in the country exceeds 150%.
“Russia fully provides itself with the main types of food: grain and products of its processing, meat and fish products, sugar, vegetable oil and other food products,” he said.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food added that the demand is mainly for products that are not produced in our country due to climatic conditions.
“At the same time, Russian importers work with a wide range of supplier countries. Thus, the domestic market is reliably protected, and risks to food security are excluded,” he stressed.
Zyabbarov recalled that agricultural fairs will start working in Tatarstan on March 19. Spring fairs will open at 15 venues in Kazan, at two in the Zelenodolsk region, as well as in Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk and other cities of the republic. “It will be possible to purchase products at prices below the average retail prices,” he concluded.
