The VII World Halal Summit and the VIII Halal Expo of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) are being held in Istanbul on November 25-28. A delegation from Tatarstan, headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, is taking part in the events. The summit is organized by the Islamic Center for Trade Development (ICDT) and the Institute for Standardization and Metrology of Islamic Countries (SMIIC).

The summit is organized with the aim of increasing the volume of trade in Halal-certified products, providing access to new markets and closely monitoring trends in the industry. This year Halal Expo is held under the slogan: "New norms of a new era: the indispensability of the production and consumption of halal products."

“The previous Summit has proved to be a successful business platform for establishing new contacts and presenting economic opportunities and investment potentials of the participating countries. It is very important that during the pandemic, interaction with partners from Muslim states in the field of trade, economic and investment cooperation did not stop, but, on the contrary, progressed dynamically. The process of rapprochement between Russia and the countries of the Islamic world confirms the possibility of a successful partnership in the context of the formation of a multipolar world, ”said Marat Zyabbarov.

More than 25 countries are represented at the Halal Exhibition in Istanbul. Halal Expo brought together a large number of representatives from sectors such as food, cosmetics, finance, tourism, logistics, publishing, packaging and education. The exhibition provides an opportunity to meet with leading industry companies and assess the business potential.

Within the framework of the event, Marat Zyabbarov held a number of business meetings with the heads of enterprises of the Turkish food market.
