Marat Zyabbarov held a meeting to prevent the spread of ASF in Tatarstan

A meeting on preventing the spread of African swine fever on the territory of the Republic was held in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan via videoconference. The meeting was held by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Lenar Garipov, Head of the Main Veterinary Department of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan Almaz Khisamutdinov, Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Ilnur Galiyev. All municipal districts of the republic joined the event in the videoconference mode.

Today, about 23 thousand pigs are kept in private subsidiary farms in the republic, more than 411 thousand in pig-breeding enterprises.

"It is necessary to exclude free-range animals at private farms, keep them indoors, carry out sanitary treatment and treat the premises from rodents. The same rules are applied to poultry farms. We have already talked about insurance many times. Federal support will be provided to the enterprise only if it is insured," Marat Zyabbarov said.

The Veterinary Service carried out all organizational, economic, veterinary and sanitary measures to stop the infection. Currently, all restrictions on ASF in the republic have been lifted.

"In order to avoid a difficult situation with African swine fever, we monitor the receipt of products in the Mercury system, and also examine samples from pig products entering the territory of the republic from other regions. Since the beginning of the year, a total of 9038 samples of pig products have been examined," Almaz Khisamutdinov said.

Infected products do not pose a danger to humans, since people do not suffer from African swine fever. But it is extremely dangerous for pigs.
