The Ministry discussed issues of improving the legislative regulation of the development of breeding and seed production
Today, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan under the chairmanship of Senator of the Russian Federation Gennady Yemelyanov. Issues of improving the legislative regulation of the development of breeding and seed production were discussed there.
It was attended by First Deputy Minister Nail Zalakov, Deputy Minister Ildus Gabdrakhmanov, heads of agricultural enterprises.
"As you all know, the federal law "On Seed Production" was adopted in the first reading, but there are a lot of questions. That is why we have gathered today to make our proposals regarding this law, " Gennady Yemelyanov addressed the audience. The law was not allowed to the second and third readings.
"The issues of breeding both in crop production and in animal husbandry are very relevant, the problem was felt especially acutely during the pandemic, when the borders were closed," said First Deputy Minister Nail Zalakov. "Then we were faced with a shortage of seeds and the difficulty of importing genetics."
The parties discussed the problems of breeding both in crop production and in the livestock industry. As it was noted at the meeting, there are difficulties with the creation of a unified regulatory framework, certification of animals. The issue of personnel training was also discussed.
As a result of the meeting, proposals on possible amendments to the draft federal law "On Seed Production" from the Republic of Tatarstan were formed.
