Veterinary services of the republic have worked out an algorithm of actions for the elimination of particularly dangerous animal diseases

Today, in Verkhneuslonsky district, the staff exercises to eliminate African swine fever.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, head of the district Marat Ziatdinov and other responsible persons.

The event began with an inspection of special equipment. The exhibition featured UAZ, Komarov disinfection units based on GAZ-53 and KAMAZ, a dump truck for the disposal of biological waste, veterinary vehicles in full configuration with a satchel sprayer.

Marat Zyabbarov addressed the participants of the event with a welcoming speech. He thanked the representatives of the services for their prompt and well-coordinated work and expressed confidence that they would gather for such formations.

The event continued with the practical part. So, according to legend, in the peasant farm of Pashkov there was a mass death of pigs. There is a pig farm on the territory where the infection can spread. Experts suspected the animals.  All services reacted quickly, and the commission for emergency situations was deployed on the territory of the settlement.

During the event, veterinarians demonstrated the collection of biomaterial for research. After a laboratory study, the management of the district and the republic, as well as all interested services, were notified about outbreaks of infection.

The district commission outlined measures to eliminate the focus of the disease in order to prevent the spread of epizootics. In the village where the source of infection was identified, round-the-clock veterinary and police posts were set up, roads were blocked and barriers were installed. To fight the African swine fever, the carcasses of the animals were burned in a specially prepared trench. After that, it was covered with bleach and filled with soil. In addition, they thoroughly disinfected the stables where the pigs were kept, as well as the equipment and inventory.

Responsible services were involved in the elimination of the outbreak within the framework of the command and staff training, equipped with modern equipment that allows carrying out the necessary diagnostic and liquidation measures.
