Zelenodolsk Dairy Plant began packaging products in “smart” paper
It is recyclable and naturally decomposes quickly.
Zelenodolsk Dairy Processing Plant has updated the packaging of the "Very important cow" 5% fat cottage cheese. A new wrapping material for the inner part of the package - "Ecolin" or "smart paper", was developed in Sweden. It is lighter and more convenient to use, retains the taste of the product, does not allow it to oxidize and does not allow odors to pass through.
“This is a good alternative to laminated foil and parchment. "Smart paper" has an optimal combination: it is grease and moisture resistant, like polymer films, while keeping its shape - like paper and has the protective characteristics of laminated foil. The use of new packaging is also a contribution to the protection of the environment. Ecolin packaging can be recycled, and in the soil it naturally decomposes within a year, ”said Yulia Maksimova, chief production engineer at ZMK JSC.
The outside of the package is also made of recyclable polypropylene. It is opaque and has an image of a Very Important Cow. So far, only 5% fat “Very important cow” cottage cheese can be purchased in the new packaging, but the company plans to use it for its other products as well.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, daily more than 600 tons of high quality milk is supplied to ZMK enterprises from agricultural firms from all over Tatarstan within 8 hours from the moment of milk production.
