Today the hero of our column "People of Labor", in which we write about ordinary people who have earned honor and respect for their daily work, is Gabdulhak Shakirov from the village of Nizhnyaya Oshma, Mamadysh district. On March 10 of this year, he would have turned 100 years old.
He began his career at the age of 15, as a tractor driver at the Mamadysh MTS. In 1940 he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army and sent to the Navy. After graduating from the school of divers, he served in the Red Banner Amur Flotilla. He took part in battles with Japan. He commanded a diving boat.
After demobilization, he returned to his native region and until 1950 worked as a department manager and secretary of the party organization of the Mamadyshsky state farm. In 1952 - 1959 he had taken government positions in the Mamadysh and Dubyaz districts of Tatarstan. Since 1959, the working biography of Gabdulkhak Shakirov has been inextricably linked with the Nizhnekamsk region. For more than 30 years he headed large agricultural enterprises of the region - "Prikamsky", "Rodina", "Nizhnekamsky". Thanks to his deep knowledge, energy and skillful leadership, he made a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the Nizhnekamsk region.
Gabdulhak Shakirov was awarded two Orders of Lenin, the Orders of the Red Banner of Labor, the October Revolution, the First Degree of the Patriotic War, medals, and the title "Honored Worker of Agriculture". He actively participated in the social and political life of the republic, was twice elected a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the TASSR. Gabdulhak Shakirovich was distinguished by great diligence, adherence to principles and a sense of responsibility for the task entrusted to him. The bright memory of him will remain in our hearts for a long time.
