A round table "Tatarstan - Ethiopia" was held within the framework of the XVI BRICS summit, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Oleg Korobchenko. Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Gainullov and leading adviser of the food market development department Salavat Sakhabutdinov also took part in it.

The Ethiopian delegation included Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Federal Republic of Ethiopia Misganu Arga Moach and Minister of Mines of Ethiopia Habtamu Tegegne.

"Our powerful industrial potential is represented in all areas - shipbuilding, aircraft manufacturing, mechanical engineering and instrument making. We are also one of the leaders in the agro-industrial complex. And, of course, our republic is open to investment. Ethiopia is one of the promising countries for us, with which we have been friends for a long time,” said Oleg Korobchenko.

Misganu Arga Moach emphasized that Ethiopia is well-known for the achievements of the Republic of Tatarstan in the agricultural and oil refining industries, in the production of equipment, cars, and aviation. All this, according to him, can be significant for the development of trade in Ethiopia - a country with a population of 125 million people. This is a huge market, the fastest growing among the BRICS countries.

Rustem Gainullov noted that Tatarstan, as an export-oriented republic with a powerful industrial potential and agro-industrial complex, is ready to supply Ethiopia with the widest range of products - grain, oil and fat, and dairy products.

The deputy minister also noted that today Tatarstan imports coffee from Ethiopia for 41 thousand dollars.

"We have finished products and raw materials that we aim to export. There are 258 export companies operating in our republic. We work in 52 countries annually. We are increasing our exports," Rustem Gainullov emphasized.

This event is in line with the goals and objectives of the national project "International Cooperation and Export"
