In Laishevsky district, the construction of the third stage of the fish-breeding complex "Biosphere-Fish" is underway. The result will be the cultivation of 100 tons of rainbow trout weighing 1.8-2 kg and 2 million trout fry per year using Danish technology.

An investment project to create a fish breeding complex has been implemented in Laishevsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan since 2017. About 625 million rubles have already been invested. In October 2018, the grand opening of the 1st stage of the project took place, in August 2020 - the second stage. The project provides for the development of a fish-breeding complex using a closed water supply system for the production of 8 million sterlet fry of the Volga population per year for the purpose of reproduction of fish stocks in the territorial waters of the Volga-Caspian basin; production of 1 million fry for seed and 100 tons of marketable trout per year; processing of sturgeon and salmon fish, including the production of black caviar.

The technology implies a full cycle of fish reproduction from obtaining caviar to rearing juveniles of different weights from 1.5 to 10 grams, as well as marketable fish. The fish-breeding complex is now on the way of creating its own breeding herd - the enterprise is growing 20,000 units of genetically confirmed sterlet of the Volga population.

The sterlet fry grown at the enterprise is sold for compensatory releases in the water area of the Volga and Kama rivers by companies that damage nature, and live fish weighing 500 grams or more is sold to the population of the republic.

Also, on the territory of the fish breeding complex, a chain of ponds with a total area of 3 hectares was built for breeding pond fish and the development of a tourist and recreational zone for sports and amateur fishing. Construction of 3 new carp fish ponds will begin soon.

For scientific support of the project and training of personnel for the fish-breeding industry of the Republic of Tatarstan on the territory of the complex, a basic department “Aquatic biological resources and aquaculture” of Kazan State Energy University was created.

Many residents of Kazan have already tasted the sterlet from Biosphere-Fish: fish is sold both fresh and smoked on the territory of the enterprise and on request.

- The fish breeding complex "Biosphere-Fish" will take part in the 3rd specialized exhibition "TatAgroExpo", which will be held from 10 to 12 February on the territory of the international exhibition center "Kazan Expo", we already have something to show and please, - said the investor LLC "Biosphere-Fish" Vladimir Malygin.
