Tatarstan scientists have optimized the mineral nutrition of new varieties of spring barley

Scientists of the TatNIISH, a separate structural subdivision of the FRC KazSC RAS, under the leadership of candidate of agricultural sciences, leading researcher Vasily Blokhin, optimized the mineral nutrition of new varieties of spring barley to increase the yield and quality of grain. The study became the winner of the competition of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan among scientific research and development in the field of agro-industrial complex.

Particular attention was paid to the creation of new highly productive varieties of spring barley. Barley varieties were used for development - two-row Endan and multi-row Tevkech. They have unique quality characteristics.

During the development, the elements of varietal cultivation technology were studied, as well as their influence on obtaining the maximum yield and the formation of high-quality grain.

The study revealed that a differentiated approach to the application of mineral fertilizers (main and top dressing in the tillering phase) provide reliable grain additions to the control without fertilizers: Endan - 0.79-1.77 and Tevkech 0.33-1.4 t / ha. The optimal seeding rate of seeds allows a wider disclosure of the genetic potential of productivity in specific cultivation conditions, Endan and Tevkech - 5.5 million / ha of germinating seeds. Despite the unfavorable conditions of the second half of the growing season, the yield of the Endan variety was 3.87 t / ha, Tevkech - 3.77 t / ha.

The gross harvest of the Endan variety was 533.3 kg / ha, Tevkech - 496.9 kg / ha. In the course of research, it was established that the higher the seeding rate and nutritional level, the greater the protein yield per hectare.

The highest payback value for 1 kg of fertilizers, kilograms of grain were possessed by the varieties against the background of the application of fertilizers N34.4 and N16P16K16 at a seeding rate of 4.5 million / ha: Endan - 24.1 and Tevkech - 25.3 kg. The highest content of digestible protein in 1 kg of barley grain was in the Endan variety, the seeding rate of 3.5 million / ha - 110.18 g and feed units - 1.29.

The introduction of new varieties and developed agricultural practices for them will increase the yield, profitability and competitiveness of the production of high-quality spring barley grain on the farms of the republic.
