Bakeries are compensated for part of the costs associated with the production. The rules for the payment of such compensation were approved by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The compensation will be 2 thousand rubles per ton of bread and bakery products with a short shelf life (up to five days). An organization that receives compensation must fix prices for its products.

For small enterprises that bake about 15 tons of bread per day, the amount of support will be about 1 million rubles per month of work, for large enterprises (from 60 tons of products per day) - more than 3.6 million rubles. The funds will be brought to the recipients on the basis of agreements between the Ministry of Agriculture and regional authorities.

The decision to support bakers is part of a package of measures to reduce food prices, developed by the Government on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The head of state indicated that it is necessary to respond in a timely manner to the rise in prices for basic products.

To solve this problem, the Government increased duties on a number of agricultural products, including wheat, sunflower, rapeseed, provided support for millers and ensured the conclusion of special agreements on price stabilization between market participants and regulators.

Manufacturers reacted positively to the news. For example, Lenar Kamalov, director of the Buinsky bakery (Republic of Tatarstan), noted: “We hope that such support provided by the Ministry of Agriculture will have a positive impact on our industry. Reimbursement of part of the cost of selling bread is a necessary thing. Such a measure should allow avoiding an increase in bread prices. In Tatarstan, compensation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan is already in effect for the implementation of “Social breads”: rural, white and Darnitsa bread, which helps to keep prices down and keep production profitable. Support for other types of bread will significantly support producers. "
