In the nomination "Try and you will love it" the Tatar chak-chak, which is prepared in Elabuga, is presented.

The name of the chak-chak dish is associated with the name of the wife of Mardukan, the female spirit Chakchak. Her name is usually translated as “dewdrop”, but sometimes, starting from the Tatar word “чәчәк”, - as “flower”. Chakchak is the spirit of dawn, home and family happiness.

Previously, the dish was considered exclusively festive, was present at all holidays and significant dates, it was presented for a wedding. Now it has become an almost everyday dish. The mass production of chak-chak is associated with the appearance of factories on the territory of the republic for the production of bakery products.

Kazan chak-chak are loaves of 185 grams tightly packed in transparent film. The treat has a sweet honey smell and taste. It’s delicate, melting in the mouth.

The main advantage of the Kazan chak-chak is a unique, inimitable recipe for production, which goes back to the period of the Volga Bulgaria, where, according to legend, the famous Tatar delicacy appeared. And also there are only natural, environmentally friendly ingredients of the highest grades for its preparation!

The world's largest chak-chak was prepared in Kazan for the opening of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in the shape of a half-soccer ball. It weighed 4026 kg and took about 9000 eggs, a ton of flour and a ton of honey to prepare it.
