In May of this year, in Tatarstan, as part of the digitalization of the agro-industrial complex, a system of Unified Animal Identification was launched. Arsky and Baltasinsky districts became pilot. There, labeling of newborn calves has begun this week.
On June 10, in Arsky district, a control check of the process of chipping was carried out at the livestock farm of the agricultural farm “Kirlay”. The Commission of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, with the participation of the district veterinary service and the software product operator, RIVC JSC, went to the district and checked the whole process: from setting tags to creating a veterinary passport and reading information on the animal using the qr code.
The calves were fitted with tags with a unique number and qr code in one ear, and electronic chips registered in a single information system on the other. The final registration was made by the veterinary service of the district, which confirmed the presence of animals and entered into them veterinary passports.
Anyone can get acquainted with the animal’s passport simply by pointing the phone to the qr code on the animal’s tag. The performance of the system was checked by the Director General of the RIVC Niyaz Khaliullin. He noted that the operator for the implementation of the software product is RIVC JSC, which is engaged in staff training and maintenance of the software product, as well as a tag supplier in the Republic of Tatarstan.
Marat Karimov, director of the agricultural company “Klay”, noted that this innovation will be useful for the effective management of all processes on the farm. “The system gives full transparency and openness of farm data not only to the head of the enterprise, but also to specialists of the ministry and veterinary services. The buyer will also have the opportunity to check where the animal’s meat came from, where it was raised, whether the animal was healthy, and what veterinary activities were carried out. For those who work honestly, there is nothing to fear, ”said Marat Karimov.
Indeed, in the future, without a single number, the animal will not go to slaughter, and even more so, to the counter. Any buyer, if necessary, will be able to see the origin of the animal and the entire history of veterinary measures.
